Spring is in the air - Join us!

Springtime often conjures up hope filled images where we expect beautiful new beginnings right around the corner. That is our aim as an organization.

Our vision: Creating a world where humanity is renewed and restored in healthy relationship.         Our mission is to eradicate sexual exploitation through our HOPE Model.

There is no possible way that we can do this on our own, it's a group effort!  It takes individuals, families, businesses, faith communities, social service providers- basically all of us doing our part to end human trafficking in Canada.

Grateful for our first AGM on March 11th where we welcomed 56 founding members to join our board of directors in this inaugural year. Men and women from across the province of Saskatchewan from 19 years old to 70. We loved the diversity represented there and look forward to building our membership as we venture forward. Here are some bios of our founding board of directors along with some photos of that first meeting -(Click on the photo to view some highlights of our AGM):

We introduced our phase 1 strategic plan which includes the many ways we are engaging our community in the coming year to support our HOPE model. In that plan, we'll be introducing our housing initiative soon to bring holistic restoration of those experiencing sex trafficking and exploitation. In that, we'll be seeking many partners to join our voice in helping to make that a reality. Stay tuned as we share those details in the coming months!  Providing housing is but one initiative to support our HOPE Model.  We've uploaded a slideshow of the Need and Demand Study we commissioned SHIP to create for our case for support.

Doors open at 6pm - Screening at 6:45-9:15pm

Over 18 is a clear-eyed examination of modern pornography and its effects on kids, teens, parents, and porn stars. The goal of the project is to educate youth and their communities on the realities of pornography, help their parents understand the growing epidemic of hardcore porn usage, and propose solutions for preventing exposure and addiction in the first place.

Some quick stats:

-Over 90% of boys and 60% of girls have seen porn before the age of 18

-71% of teens hide their online behaviour from their parents

-Boys see porn for the first time by age 12, on average

The type of porn that exists today isn't like the Playboy mags of old- it's violent and degrading on a scale we've never seen. 83% of male minors have seen group sex online, and 23% of girls have witnessed sexual bondage.

What to expect:

-the host introduces the night and the film

-The film is 74 mins, so the usual event is about 2 hours with intro and closing.

-Some Q&A and opportunities overview opportunties to deal with problems concerning this issue in our city.

-host wraps the event, people stick around to talk, explore resources, etc.
